WELCOME HOME SUMMER
So I grew up in Sydney, in the city. In summer it gets hot, real hot. But we have the beach right?
Here there aint no beach and on top of that its spring and today was like high twenties. Plus I heard that it can touch 40 in the hottest patches of summer…. but then it snows in winter??

So this image is from 7th Avenue, like right down in the heart of Hells Kitchen, in a street fair. Lots a food and fake sunglasses. Real nice area, apart from the name. Typical NY architecture.

So this is the sublime view from the pad I am at in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. This is from the morning, perhaps 9am or 10am. I was constructing it and i could not get the perspective right… it kept making the bowed edges that you can see. It was really pissing me off. But then I thought… thats the way you see this skyline. Its not perfect or well aligned or even practical. Its each piece out doing another one, each building being shadowed by another billion dollar company.
Say what you like, but I prefer it the way it is

No more half measures
I wish I was allowed to take a photo inside the Social Security Office today. It was amazing. A giant coiled line of immigrant from every corner imaginable were crammed in a tiny basement with armed security guards and awaited their work permits.
A lot of Hasidic Jews too who stood out like sore thumbs and spoke only in Yiddish or Hebrew.
Lots of Latinos… I no longer feel special being called Juan
This view is the view from the living room of the apartment I am crashing in Mid Town, about two blocks West of Central Park. I am on the 39th Floor and there is nothing until downtown Manhattan that is taller than this building. Its pretty Patrick Bateman I’ll just say that.

For breakfast I had eggs, pancakes, bacon, syrup, cheese and coffee

The weekend of May 11,12,13 will most likely be the final Leanne and I spend together in Sydney. For this week I intend to move to New York
